ABOUT US
Fendahlene are Paul Whiteley (guitars and vocals) and Ashley Hurst (bass). Influenced by 60s and 70s rock, 90s and 00s indie- and alt-rock, and alt-country, they were regulars on the Sydney live circuit for ten years. Highlights from this time include having two tracks selected for a national ad campaign for Sharp stereos, and the buzz around their song Glebe Point Road, which was on regular rotation on commercial radio stations NOVA 96.9 Sydney and across the MMM Network on Planet Rock.
After relocating to Europe, they recorded a new album, High and Low and Back Again, at London's Urchin Studios over 2018 and 2019. Featuring Matt Ingram on drums and Dan Cox behind the desk, it was released mid-2020 on vinyl – a first for the band. After acclaimed producer Kevin Shirley remixed two of the album’s signature tracks the band returned to Urchin in late 2022 to begin recording the enormous backlog of songs they accumulated over lockdown. The big reveal of this new material commences in May. Watch this space!
